Married to wife Donna for 36 years with 2 children, Dawn & John with  three grand children, Eric, Dylan, and Emily. Served 8 years in the USAF which included 1 tour in Viet Nam. Hired in 1972 by the New Hampshire State Police retired in 1995 with the rank of Sgt. Currently employed as the part time Chief of Police for the Town of Dalton. Member of the NRA, founding member of “the Dalton Gang” a cowboy action shooting club, Member of the Board of Advisers of Pro-gun New Hampshire. Served in the House from 1996 until 2008, reelected in 2010 in a special election. Served in several national and regional organizations including National Council of State legislatures (2 terms as a V-Chair) and Council of State Governments (as vice chair) of the Criminal Justice Committees. Committee assignments in the house include Public works & Highways, Legislative Administration (1 term as V-Chair) and Criminal Justice (2 terms as V-Chair) current assignment is Science nad Tech.
