Candidate for State Representative
District: Rockingham 4 (Windham/Salem)
Website: www.marksamsel.com
I am a 30 year resident of Windham, residing on Depot Rd with my wife Janet and where we raised our 3 children. Professionally, I have been in IT for 30 years managing Professional Service organizations for both small and large companies which included P&L and sales responsibility. Currently I am employed as a Senior Manager in IT at the Lincoln Financial Group, located in Concord, NH.
My elected service includes 6 years on the Windham Zoning Board of Adjustment, serving as Chairman for 4. My service to the community includes one of the founding members and President of the Windham Rail Trail Alliance, Chairman of the Windham Depot Advisory Committee, and Vice President of the New Hampshire Rail Trail Collation. Previously, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Windham Baseball/Softball League, Salem Softball League (managing teams in both leagues) and coached 2 Odyssey of the Mind Teams.
I believe this is a very critical period of time for New Hampshire and its citizens to reset the current direction of this state. The 2011 session must be dedicated to bringing New Hampshire back on course and back to its values. This is not the New Hampshire I moved to 30 years ago, not the New Hampshire that my neighbors and many I have met throughout the state and country that have seen us as unique and special.
I do not want to see a legislature with a desire to place additional financial burden on its citizens and business, and continue the erosion of family values and individual liberties.
I take pride in serving in public positions, both elected and in my non-profit endeavors, and especially thankful to be working with some exceptional individuals. I look forward to bringing my dedication to the House of Representatives for those in District 4.
